GIANT BANANA SPLIT 2010

Once again the Giant Banana Split in the Ammanford Arcade was a massive success. A large crowd gathered to take part in the Giant Banana Split at the Arcade on Friday 5 March.
The event was part of the Fairtrade Fortnight. This is the second time for us to build a giant banana split along the length of the shopping arcade in Ammanford and this year's was just as successful as the last one.

We'd like to thank the local businesses who supported us, namely -Maria from Franks for the ice cream, Viv at LBS for helping us with the guttering and Anthony at COOP for the banana's.

Also we had a solar powered cinema showing films about fairtrade.

In order to build the banana split we first had to cut up the bananas and place them on the trough, then add the ice cream, follwed by cream and chocolate sauce. After this everyone grabbed a spoon and tucked in!
What better way to celebrate fairtrade fortnight and at the same time raise awareness about goods that treat farmers and traders fairly.
