AMMANFORD'S ANNUAL FAIRTRADE BANANA SPLIT - ANOTHER MASSIVE SUCCESS

Ammanford's College Street Arcade was once again transformed into a riotous fairtrade feasting palace on Friday, as the town's children gathered to build and devour a 100 foot long Fairtrade Banana Split.
The annual event, now in its seventh year, proved as popular as ever, with crowds spilling out onto the piazza, where there were the added attractions of free circus skills sessions, a Comic Relief stall and Popcycle's mobile Fairtrade shop.
The event was organised by Ammanford Fairtrade Group, with Fairtrade bananas donated by The Co-Operative, ice cream by Franks, and the guttering to hold it all donated by LBS.
Fairtrade Group member Phil Broadhurst said : "It was another really good community event, with everyone coming together to celebrate Fairtrade."
The Fairtrade Group's next event will be a Fair Trade Walk, from Brynaman to Ammanford, starting at Siop Laria, and ending at the Twrch Trwyth Diversity Festival in Ammanford's Quay Street on Saturday 21st March.
